Expressions of interest for the 2026 Hackathon are now open

That’s a wrap on Hackathon 2025!

This year’s Hackathon brought together a passionate group of GPs, clinical entrepreneurs and developers to co-design solutions to real-world challenges in general practice.

Held from 28–30 March at the Microsoft Reactor in Sydney, the Hackathon was a high-energy weekend of innovation, collaboration and leadership. Six teams developed forward-thinking ideas that demonstrated the power of GP-led innovation.

A huge thank you to all participants for your creativity, insight and generosity, and to our partners for helping make the event possible.

G’day Health was selected by our judging panel as the winning team for Hackathon 2025. We can’t wait to see them present their innovation at the RACGP Practice Owners Conference, held 24–25 May in Melbourne – register here.

Expressions of interest for RACGP Hackathon 2026 will open at GP25 in November.

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is an event where groups of people with diverse skill sets work together to find solutions for real problems through brainstorming and rapid prototyping.

Teams collaborate to solve their particular problem or challenge, then present their outcomes to a judging panel at the end of the event.

How is the event structured?

Beginning at 10am on Friday, participants are presented with their problem and allocated to their groups.

Over Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning teams work on developing their solutions.

On Sunday after lunch, teams present their findings to the judging panel of four digital health experts. Prizes are awarded to the winning team.
